Sunkissed Glow Makeup Tutorial
Hello hello again!:) I’m back for another tutorial. Itong tutorial perfect to para sa girls who have tired, sallow or dull skin and you want to add a little glow and color sa face that lasts all day ( or almost). Also, if you’re a newbie on makeup and on a budget, don’t worry as I made this tutorial easy to follow (i hope) and affordable (as always). All products I used can be found below (last picture) and are locally found.
If you look at the picture below you’ll see my pretty bff kim who actually isn’t into makeup at all. Ok lang naman since for me maganda na siya w/o makeup ( kim kung nakikita mo to nagpapakaplastic lang ako. hahaha! joke!). I decided to make her my model in this tutorial since she has a very nice medium skintone and I wanted to enhance that as well as her other features. Syempre chance ko na rin to para mamakeover ang friend kong virgin sa makeup. hahaha! Chance ko na to para makaganti.
Now on to the tutorial…
My “model” kuno (hahaha!peace kim) has oily/combi skin so I used a light moisturizer ( Myra E daily moisturizer) followed by a face mist (The face shop face mist) to add moisture and life to the skin. I put my face mists sa ref para refreshing when you put it on and the coldness will close your pores a little bit. After 2-3 minutes..
Marami nag-aask kung may kwenta ba ang mga primers. I say yes lalo na sa napakainit at nakakawindang na panahon natin. Primers smoothens out your skin, acts as a barrier, minimizes the pores, keeps oiliness off a bit longer (depending on your skin type) and keeps the makeup intact throughout the day. A cheap but effective primer is the one from Maybelline.
I prefer to use a BB creams/tinted moisturizers if you don’t need the heavy coverage and just want to even out your skin. It gives a nice light dewy effect without looking oily. I prefer to blend using my fingers kasi for me I have a few pimple bumps sa forehead and mas nacocover niya pag ganun.
I love using the Garnier roll on with a touch of BB cream because it’s a concealer, highlighter, corrector and skin care rolled into one. It’s affordable, lasts forever (I use it everyday pero hindi pa rin nauubos), and it has lots of benefits for your undereye problems. It doesn’t cake at all, at least for me and blends easily. I put it on the undereye, sides of the nose, and down the bridge of the nose using a dabbing motion.
I used elf blush/contouring cream on the apples of her cheeks to give her a instant glow. I mixed both colors to make it look warmer. I prefer to use cream blushes kasi mag nagsisink in siya sa skin unlike powders na may tendency to cake under our humid weather.
When I say “lightly” I mean it. You don’t want to look too matte and budge the makeup underneath. Apply just one layer concentrating on your T-zone area then outwards. I prefer to use translucent powders kasi we do not want heavy coverage in this tutorial. I love the Essence Translucent Powder -afford na afford and really works well on my oily/combi skin.
I cannot exaggerate enough kung gaano kaimportante itong step na to. Look at my friend’s brows, the right brow (your right) was already done first and it instantly frames her face. Practice makes perfect. Do not give up! LABAN! (ay..nadala..sorry.)
I used the Sansan Eyeshadow Trio in 02. I mixed all three colors and just used my ring finger to apply it all over her eyelid then blending it up to her crease. I love how you don’t need an e/s primer prior to application as it doesn’t crease and the colors are very pigmented and pretty. The product really blends well too.
I guess this is self explanatory. Remember to use waterproof though!!! If you have already full lashes I suggest using a brown mascara but if you don’t you can use any black mascaras but don’t overdo it. We want natural looking lashes here not spider looking lashes.
Apply shimmering bronzer on the cheeks to add that “glow” and warmth to the skin. Then (w/o dipping the brush to the bronzer) lightly dust what’s left on the brush all over the face and neck. I used the elf bronzing powder – the darkest shade.
Apply your favorite coral lipstick ( Nyx indian pink ).voila! you are done.
Remember to spray face mist again to set the makeup.
The finished look..
Iba talaga kapag PHOTOGENIC no kim??? hahahah! char!
Products mentioned/seen/used above :
I organized the products so that you can see what products I used step by step from left to right.
Thank you to my lovely friend kim who I hope will still be my model/ friend after all the bashing I did to her in this post.
) You know I love you. I hope you learned a thing..kahit a thing lang sana..wag naman nothing kasi ang sad ko na nun. haha!
Till my next post!

What to do when you bought an unflattering lipstick shade?
Last year medyo naging cray cray ako pagdating sa lipsticks. When I found out about nyx round lipsticks I wanted to collect it all. My mind was all *mine!allmine!bwahaha!* and my friends was like *hoarder ka!ilan ba labi mo??* hahaha! I literally spent most of my allowance buying every shade no matter how crazy it looked. I didn’t even think twice if the shade would suit me. Swatches online made me want more because it looked so good on other beauty bloggers. Not to mention when you buy a minimum number of lipsticks you’ll get more discounts.
FYI, I didn’t get all the shades. Only a few, around..uhm..30?..40?? Don’t judge! I’m guilty as it is but no regrets. The different shades comes very handy when it comes to my makeup gigs. There are some shades, though, that I was having a hard time using at first because it didn’t looked good on anyone I know. Also, the formula is too creamy that it applies unevenly and looks blotchy on the lips. The shades I were referring to was Nyx’s Orange Soda and Marrakesh Pink.
You can see how the two colors wash me out and not at all flattering with my skin tone. Lakas maka nicki minaj ang lips ko!haha!
Rather than throwing them away, I’m going to show you guys how you can use them and maybe create your own shade. Makeup is all about experimenting what products make you look at your best. Hindi porket di bagay sa una eh tapon tapon lang dyan. Wag ganun mga sis, it’s our job to be creative and try to make it work. As I’ve said before, when used alone the nyx orange soda and marrakesh pink are too blotchy but when used over another lipstick it fuses/blend really well creating a new shade.
The problem with nyx orange soda is that the undertone is too light. So what I did was I mixed it with a deep brown lipliner (or lipstick?whatever you have na! Lipliners are just cheaper for me.) and apply the nyx orange soda above as seen in the picture below. If you prefer to use matte lipsticks underneath make sure to apply the matte lipstick while your lipbalm is not entirely absorbed by your lips para mabilis iblend.
(Please read from left to right)
Here you can see how I used the marrakesh pink over a dark cherry lipliner and created a flattering mauve shade for me!
One of my favorite lip combination (not to mention cheap!) was the Nichido’s lipliner in Rosette and Nyx Orange Soda. The finish is a pretty coral everyday lip shade. What do you think?:)
The good thing about this is that you can control how dark and how light you want the lipstick shade to be. See? Before giving up on it try to mix it with the rest of your lipsticks/lipliners maybe you’ll create a shade esp. for you!
Hope you liked this post and helped you guys a little. Did it make you want to play with your lipsticks?
)) Just remember, you don’t have to buy a new lipstick shade anymore. You just have to mix the darkest one you have with lightest one.

Weekend Finds : A Mac Dupe??
I was with my high school barkada last Sunday and we went to Robinson’s Magnolia to watch a movie and catch up. After watching a movie we decided to stroll around the mall. We ended up at the department store and I went to check out the LA Colors kiosk when I saw this.
At first I thought it was similar to MAC Heroine but the finish was a bit glossy. I asked my cousin who was also into purple lipsticks and she told me that it looks more like MAC Goes and Goes Pro Longwear Lipcreme. I don’t own the MAC one but after seeing swatches online I just thought that this could be a good dupe. Here are some pictures that I saw online…
Don’t you think so? I thought I’d share this to you guys who are into purple lipsticks.
LA Colors Lipstick in Matte Amethyst (99php)
The finish can be a bit sheer or full on so I can say that it’s definitely buildable. The maximum pigmentation it can give is a tad lighter than what you actually see in the lipstick bullet. When applied on the lips it’s not as matte as the name suggests but it’s not that glossy either. It’s still closer to a matte finish but with a bit moisture.
To be honest, I actually like the lipstick on me. I thought that it would not complement my skin tone but I think I can pull this off. Ano sa tingin niyo? Hindi naman masyadong malanicki minaj ang dating sakin?
For 99 pesos I could definitely say it’s a great find and such a steal too!
Lakas makapout! Sensya naman!:D
Till my next interesting find!:)

Anything goes : April 2013
It’s been a year since I started this anything goes topic. I know I haven’t been consistent but I do try my best to post monthly.
1. Nail polishes from 168 – They are actually quite good and in fair to the ness hindi nagyeyellow and nails ko even after a week. The BK ones are quite pricey for 80php each. I’ve been searching for a pastel purple shade and I think I found the one but I could not help myself so binili ko na rin yung dalawa *hoarder*cough*
2. Beauty Formulas Tea Tree Facial Mask (around 150php at SM Supermarkets) – I have been using this deep cleansing clay mask every other day and it worked wonders on my skin. Hindi na macyado nagmamantika ang face (oo ganun kalala!) pero hindi din siya ganoon kadrying kaya pwede siya for everyday use kapag oily skin ka like me. It also helps ‘calm’ my skin and it made my pores look smaller.:) Nothing fancy but I like how affordable , gentle, and simple this is.
3. Sansan Concealer in Beige and Olive (99php) – Gives medium to full coverage but only a fraction of the cost. Super cheap and you just have to moisturize well to prevent it from creasing under your eyes.

4. Essence Fix & Matte Translucent Powder (259php) – This is definitely HG material. The oil control is amazing and the powder feels so smooth and velvety to the skin. I love it love it looove it!:)..love it!hahaahaha!

5. Maybelline baby lips in Grape Vine – The only downside is it’s not available locally. I’d get this shade over any pink tinted lip balm since it suits my skin tone more.
6. Nyx Round Lipstick in Indian Pink – It’s a nice cool coral shade that has fine gold shimmers in it. The gold shimmers are very subtle and creates the illusion of a more pouty lips.Very summer-y ang peg and I like how fresh my whole face looks when I have this on my lips.
7. The Face Shop Facial Mist (249php) – My bestfriend through this super mainit na weather ( I sound so conyo). I use this before and after makeup and it does keep my makeup last longer and prevents it from being cakey. It’s affordable and gives a nice finish to my skin.I love how refreshing this is after having just walked under the hot summer sun.
8. You know that I always include my favorite snacks here. I got to taste this from a friend at work and hindi pala siya ganoon kaspicy. Akala ko kasi super anghang niya pero tolerable naman pala. I love anything with jalapenos ever since I got to eat fried jalapenos at a Mexican resto in the US.
9. So I got a bunch of random stuff from my mom. These are just the first wave of what I got and I am a SUPER HAPPY BEAUTY BLOGGER!!:)) I would not do a haul post because it wouldn’t seem right but I will try to review these one by one.

If you see something that you would like me to talk about here on my blog do comment below lang.:)

Essence Stay All Day Creme Eyeshadow Review
It’s been a while since I reviewed beauty products and today I am about to review the Essence Stay All Day Long Lasting Eyeshadow in Coppy Right (whew that was a mouthful). I got this for 209.50 php at SM San Lazaro. So does it really stay all day? Read on to find out!:)
I got it in the shade Coppy Right because you know me I love anything taupe for the eyes. If I could pick one e/s color to wear like forever and ever it would have to be taupe because it looks good on me eh!chos!

The colors come in a metallic finish. Depending where the lights hit, it can come off a bit brown, pinkish brown, silvery or all of the above. It is a creme eyeshadow but I find it a bit lumpy (as you can see below on the upper right picture), dries easily, and hard to blend. The color is very pigmented and buildable but I find that using less prevents it from getting lumpy and easier to blend.
In my experience the best way to apply this is by :
1. Getting a small amount first and use your fingers.
2.Apply gradually as you go or else the color will get all lumpy on your lids.
3.Apply and blend it VERY quickly using a swiping motion rather than patting it on.
4.If you haves lines on the lids I suggest stretching the lids a little to prevent it from creasing. Hold your browbone up and close your eyes as possible.
One thing I own that is close to a cream eyeshadow is the Ever Bilena Mousse Eyeshadow in Amber. The EB one retails for 125php for 6.5g while the Essence one retails for 209.50 php for 5.5g.Funny thing is kung ano kulang sa isa ay mas nagagawa nun isa and vice versa. The EB one blends really well than the Essence but when it comes to the staying power Essence definitely wins!
This was the first time I applied this and I only used one layer on my eyelids. It’s kind of hard getting used to and always remember step #4 as mentioned above to prevent it from highlighting the lines on your lids.

What I Love :
- very pigmented
- buildable
- affordable
- IT DOES STAY ALL DAY!!! Look at the last pic below, it did not crease on me at all and mind you I was walking outside a lot and sweating.
- crease-proof so perfect for oily lids like me
- waterproof
- can be used alone
- a perfect base ( I use the Essence eyeshadow in #35 over it which is almost the exact color as COPPY RIGHT and no need for touch ups na!)
- cute packaging
- easily accessible in some SM dept sto
What I not-so-love :
- gets lumpy if you applied too much
- dries fast but I guess this is the reason why it does stay all day
- tricky to blend (just remember what I told you to do)
- needs an oil-based remover as it stays on like crazy!
Will I buy this again?
- DEFINITELY! It’s pretty affordable and people are saying these are pretty good dupes for the MUFE cream eyeshadows.
In the picture below I applied two layers concentrating on the lid and blending it until the crease. Very nice the color no?? Just be patient when blending this and work with it until nakuha niyo na. Practice makes perfect!
Wind blown effect and pouty lips! ACHIEVE!:))))
Here is the cream e/s after 10 hours on my lids. As you can see it did not crease on me at all (hanep talaga!!). I did not use any primers before this and did not apply powder over it. Sorry for the photo as it was around 11pm na and my camera was low in battery.
Did you guys like my review? Next I will be reviewing their gel liner so watch out for that ah! Sa susunod nalang ulit.:)

Reunited
Hello pooooooooooo!! I am back with new posts. Last 3 weeks was super hectic for me because one of my (not so) little sister came back home from the states so syempre bonding nang bongga. This is what I wore when me and friend came to pick up my sister at the airport. Funny story pa nga at the airport kasi when I saw my sister I opened my arms wide and even my legs( like a sumo wrestler lang!!)and shouted “SHOBE!!!!” hahaha! I then ran to her and she carried me with matching paikot ikot effect. My little sis just “dawn zulueta” me at the airport. People were staring but I didn’t care. Kiber lang nila no!
< Bag, Top, and Shorts all from 168,Divisoria ; Shoes : Parisian ; necklace : Saizen >
Earrings are from 168 of course!;p Sa lahat ng neon colors I love neon yellow the most.
Went for light pink lips and cheeks and heavy eyeliner. I used my favorite maybelline gel liner kasi hindi siya nagssmudge on me even in our humid country.
Ready to see my lil sis? Chenen!!! Not so little na talaga.:( My gulay ang liit ko!!
Of course, a mandatory wacky pic just for fun. YUCK!!!! SUPER FAIL!!!! *slaps face* haha!joke lang! un ate sa likod anong eksena mo!?!?:))

I still have a next post so ayun..hahaha! I’m so magulo pero salamat for reading my blog!
